State Senator Pat Fahy will host a town hall meeting in Canajoharie on Tuesday (April 22) to discuss the impact of federal budget cuts on New York State services. The event will take place at the Canajoharie Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Representatives from the State Attorney General's Office are expected to attend, and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has also been invited, according to WNYT.

Senator Fahy, who chairs the Senate Disabilities Committee, has been vocal about the challenges New York faces due to federal policy changes. She has expressed concerns over executive orders and funding cut proposals by President Donald Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress. Fahy has noted that these cuts could significantly affect local services, including Medicaid, research funding, and tariffs on imports like aluminum and lumber, which could impact the state budget and contribute to the housing crisis.

The town hall aims to address these issues and provide a platform for constituents of the 46th Senate District to voice their concerns. Fahy has encouraged attendees to submit questions in advance if they wish to ask them during the event. As reported by the New York State Senate, RSVPs are not required unless a question is being submitted.
