The Animal Protective Foundation (APF) has announced the date for its next free pet wellness clinic, set for Monday, May 19, at the YWCA on Washington Avenue in Schenectady. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is dedicated to dogs only.

The clinic offers pet owners the opportunity to have their dogs receive basic checkups, as well as rabies and distemper vaccinations. While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are recommended and can be scheduled through the APF website.

These wellness clinics, held quarterly at various locations in the Capital Region, aim to provide free and low-cost preventative care to pets in the community. The APF emphasizes that while these clinics are beneficial for preventative care, they are not equipped to handle chronic medical issues. For such concerns, pet owners are encouraged to establish a relationship with a full-service veterinarian.

The APF's commitment to animal welfare is evident through their extensive services, which include adoption, veterinary care, and community outreach. As noted on their blog, the foundation has been a pillar of support for pets since 1931, providing shelter and medical care to thousands of animals each year.

The next scheduled clinic for cats will take place on June 23. For more information and to stay updated on future events, pet owners can subscribe to the APF's newsletter, PetGazette.
