The Granville Central School District is set to welcome Michael Hall as its new superintendent starting July 1. Hall, currently the high school principal at Hoosick Falls Central School District, will succeed Thomas McGurl, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.

Hall has been the principal at Hoosick Falls since 2019 and began his educational career in 2004 as a physical education teacher at Saratoga Springs City School District. The Granville Board of Education has offered him a three-year contract with an initial salary of $162,000.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hall stated, "I am excited to begin building relationships within the Granville community." The decision to appoint Hall followed a thorough selection process involving community forums and a search committee.

Board of Education President Edward Vladyka emphasized the importance of the appointment, saying, "The most important responsibility of any Board of Education is hiring a Superintendent as a partner to lead the district into the future." Vladyka added that Hall's leadership, educational experience, and dedication to student success make him a great fit for the district.

The board meeting to finalize Hall's appointment took place Monday night (May 12).
