The New York Racing Association (NYRA) has announced a new schedule for its popular Saratoga Breakfast and Breeding Farm program, aiming to make visits more family-friendly. Starting Thursday, July 10, the tours will now run from Thursday to Sunday during the Saratoga summer meet, which ends on Sunday, August 31. This change is intended to better accommodate families, as the program previously operated from Wednesday to Saturday.

The tours will include visits to three local farms: Old Tavern Farm, Sugar Plum Farm, and Song Hill Thoroughbreds. Each tour begins with a buffet-style breakfast at Saratoga Race Course, followed by a guided tour of a breeding farm, and concludes with an afternoon of live racing.

Tickets for the tours, which include breakfast, transportation, and admission to the racecourse, are priced at $95 for adults and $35 for children aged 12 and under. They are available for purchase at NYRA's website starting Wednesday, May 14.

Najja Thompson, Executive Director of New York Thoroughbred Breeders, highlighted the educational aspect of the tours, saying they offer "the opportunity to learn every facet and stage in the development of our equine athletes." The tours provide a behind-the-scenes look at the breeding farms where racehorses are foaled and spend time before and after their racing careers.

The tours will not be available on DraftKings Travers Day, Saturday, August 23, and the tour to Sugar Plum Farm on Sunday, August 10, will instead be offered on Wednesday, August 6.
