Final preparations are underway for the annual Niska-Day celebration in Niskayuna set to begin tomorrow (May 17) at 10 a.m. with a parade starting at the corner of Ray Street and Nicholas Avenue, ending at Niskayuna High School. This popular event, organized by the Niskayuna Community Action Program (N-CAP), offers a day full of family-friendly activities.

Following the parade, festivities will continue at the Craig Elementary School fields on Zenner Road from noon until 9 p.m. Attendees can enjoy live music, pony rides, face painting, and carnival rides. The day will conclude with a grand fireworks display at 9:15 p.m., so visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating.

The event is free to attend, though cash is needed for carnival rides. Proceeds from the day will benefit N-CAP, which was formed in 1980 to address the mental health needs of the Niskayuna School District and foster community identity. The celebration has become a cherished tradition in Schenectady County, offering a chance for residents to come together and enjoy a day of fun and community spirit.
