The Nightmare Market, a unique event celebrating all things spooky and strange, is set to return to Schenectady on Saturday (May 24). The event will take place at the Jay Street Marketplace from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. after being postponed due to inclement weather.
The market will feature over 70 vendors and businesses offering a variety of unconventional items, including vintage wares, taxidermy, Halloween-themed trinkets, haunting art, and horror books. Attendees can also enjoy live performances, such as a fire show, tarot readings, and a coffin photo op. Wild bird handlers will also be present to add to the eerie atmosphere.
In addition to the spooky items, several food and drink options will be available from local eateries like Bull and Bee: Meadery & Tasting Room, Ambition Coffee & Eatery, Sandye’s Cafe & Cakes, and Bittersweet Candy Co. Admission to the Nightmare Market is free, and while the event is targeted at adults, children are welcome too. Halloween costumes are encouraged for all attendees.
