Two Charged in Violent Lake Luzerne Landlord Dispute

Two individuals are facing serious charges following a violent landlord-tenant dispute in Lake Luzerne. According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Saturday (May 24) when 27-year-olds Nickalas Vandenburg and Lisa Bennett allegedly ran over a victim with a pickup truck. After the collision, they reportedly exited the vehicle and physically assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Authorities apprehended Bennett in Corinth, while Vandenburg later surrendered to the police. Both suspects have been charged with first-degree attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child, as three children were present in the vehicle during the incident.

WNYT reports that the suspects were remanded to the Warren County Jail, with bail set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. The case received assistance from the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and Warren County Child Protective Services. The investigation is ongoing, and both suspects are awaiting further legal proceedings.
