Saratoga Springs, New York, is gearing up for the Belmont on Broadway celebration with new safety protocols in place. The event, which kicks off the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival on Wednesday (June 4), will feature a concert with Uprooted and Gin Blossoms performing. To ensure a safe environment, attendees are asked not to bring coolers, backpacks, large bags, strollers, pets, glass bottles, alcohol, or weapons. Additionally, smoking and leaving bars or restaurants with alcohol are prohibited.
According to NEWS10 ABC, a no-fly zone for drones will be enforced within a half-mile radius of Broadway in front of the City Center, effective from 1 p.m. to midnight on June 4. Road closures will also be in effect, with Broadway between Van Dam Street and Lake Avenue closed from 5 a.m. on June 4 to 2 a.m. on June 5. Additional closures will extend south on Broadway to Washington and Spring Streets, with detours in place.
The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce has adjusted the concert's start time to 7 p.m., allowing more time for dining and shopping in downtown Saratoga Springs. Chamber President Todd Shimkus encourages locals to walk downtown if possible, noting that parking was ample last year.
The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will run from June 4 through June 8, promising a week of exciting events and activities.
