A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, known as "The Wall That Heals," is on display at LaSalle Institute on Williams Road in Troy, New York, starting today (June 5). This traveling exhibit, a three-quarters scale of the original monument in Washington, D.C., honors the more than 58,000 service members who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. The memorial will be open to the public 24 hours a day until Sunday (June 8), providing a space for reflection and remembrance.

The Wall That Heals includes a mobile education center, offering visitors insights into the history and impact of the Vietnam War. Since its inception in 1996, the exhibit has visited nearly 800 communities across the United States, helping millions experience the healing legacy of the original memorial.

As noted by Senator Jake Ashby, many Vietnam veterans returned to a divided nation and faced scorn due to the war's unpopularity. The exhibit aims to honor their sacrifices and ensure that future generations of servicemembers are treated with respect and gratitude.

Volunteers are needed to support this meaningful event in Troy. Those interested in volunteering can contact Cheri Pierce, Co-Chair, at TheWallThatHealsTroy2025@yahoo.com.
