The trial for Austin Breyette, a 26-year-old motorcyclist accused of hitting a University at Albany student, is scheduled to begin on August 26. Breyette allegedly struck Alexa Kropf with a dirt bike in Albany last April and fled the scene.

Kropf sustained severe injuries and required multiple surgeries, spending months in the hospital recovering. Breyette faces several charges, including assault. Jury selection for the trial was initially set to start on Monday but has been postponed.

The incident has drawn significant attention due to the serious nature of Kropf's injuries and the allegations of Breyette leaving the scene. The upcoming trial will address these charges and determine Breyette's legal responsibility in the case.
