Warren County deputies arrested Catherine Benincasa, 32, of Manchester, New Hampshire, during a "No Kings Day" rally in Warrensburg on Saturday (June 14). The arrest occurred after an altercation with Kade Hamblin, a man supporting President Trump, on Main Street. The argument escalated, and Benincasa allegedly struck Hamblin with a piece of wooden molding and bit him, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Benincasa faces charges of second-degree menacing, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released on her own recognizance. Benincasa is scheduled to appear in Warrensburg Town Court at a later date.
Hamblin, who was reportedly on his way to buy groceries, claimed the incident began when Benincasa reacted to his Trump hat. He sought medical attention at urgent care following the alleged assault. WNYT reported that the "No Kings" protest was part of a series of nationwide rallies opposing President Trump, coinciding with his military parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
