Residents of Albany must now register for a Civic Rec account to access the city's pools this summer. This new requirement aims to help the city monitor pool attendance and prevent overcrowding. The account will also provide the city with emergency contact information for pool-goers.

All family members must be included in the Civic Rec account, which can be created online. Residents can sign up by visiting the Albany Department of Recreation's website and following the instructions to create a new account. According to the Albany Department of Recreation, the account is free and essential for tracking attendance and ensuring safety at the pools.

For those without access to a computer or mobile device, a public computer is available at the Albany Department of Recreation office on Central Avenue. Anyone needing assistance with the account setup can contact the department at (518) 434-5699.

As reported by NEWS10 ABC, the pools are opening as summer approaches, and the city encourages residents to register promptly to enjoy the facilities.
