Schools in the Albany area are adjusting their schedules this week due to extreme heat. The Schenectady City School District announced that kindergarten through eighth-grade students will have half-days to protect them from the high temperatures. East Greenbush, Shenendehowa, and Bethlehem schools will also dismiss students early today (Monday, June 23) and tomorrow (Tuesday, June 24).
Despite the schedule changes, Regents exams in all districts will proceed as planned. The decision to implement half-days aims to ensure student safety during the final week of classes, as temperatures are expected to soar.
Parents and guardians are advised to stay informed about any further changes by checking with their respective school districts.
