The Village of Scotia is set to host its annual Independence Day fireworks show tonight, marking the event's forty-ninth year. The celebration will take place in Collins Park, starting at 4 p.m. and concluding at 9:30 p.m. This event, which began as a bicentennial celebration in 1976, has grown into a beloved tradition, attracting over 10,000 spectators from across the Capital Region.
Attendees often bring blankets to relax in the park and along the banks of the Mohawk River, enjoying the first Fourth of July celebration in the area. However, those planning to attend should be prepared for heavy traffic near the park and allow extra travel time.
The weather forecast for Scotia predicts cloudy skies with occasional rain showers and temperatures reaching up to 66 degrees Fahrenheit. The chance of rain is 70%, so attendees might want to bring umbrellas or raincoats. More details about the event can be found on the village website.
