Deputies Probe Two ATV Crashes in Saratoga County

Saratoga County deputies are investigating two separate ATV accidents that occurred over the weekend, resulting in multiple injuries. The first incident took place early Saturday (June 28) in Greenfield, where a utility side-by-side vehicle crashed on Locust Grove Road. According to CBS6 Albany, Frederick A. Caldwell III, 47, was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and several traffic violations, including operating without insurance and at an unsafe speed. Two passengers were airlifted to Albany Medical Center, while another was taken to Saratoga Hospital.

The second accident occurred in Providence on Sunday (June 29) near Clark Road. According to Times Union, a 16-year-old girl lost control of the ATV, hitting an earth embankment. She sustained a severe lower extremity injury and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Her passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to Saratoga Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of this crash is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Both accidents occurred between 2 and 5 a.m. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incidents to determine the exact causes and any further legal actions.
