Two Schenectady Teens Recovering After Shooting

Two teenagers are recovering after being shot in Schenectady early Tuesday morning (July 1). The victims, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, arrived at Ellis Hospital around 2:10 a.m. The older teen suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, while the younger was hit in the stomach. Both are receiving medical treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries.

The Schenectady Police Department is actively investigating the incident but has not yet disclosed the location of the shootings or any details about potential suspects. Police have urged anyone with information to contact their Detective Division at 518-382-5245 or the Tips Line at 518-788-6566.

In a statement to CBS6 Albany, the Schenectady Police Department noted a significant drop in shooting incidents over the past five years, emphasizing their ongoing initiatives to maintain this trend. The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
