In Halfmoon, Yvette Giovanni, the owner of A Time Four Paws dog day care, faces multiple charges for allegedly neglecting animals in her care. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Giovanni, aged 57, failed to provide food for 20 dogs and 10 cats at the facility. The charges followed a lengthy investigation, and authorities executed a search warrant on Tuesday (July 8).

The animals were taken to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter for examination. It remains unclear whether they have been returned to their owners. Giovanni was charged with two misdemeanor counts of failure to provide sustenance and was released on an appearance ticket pending further proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court.

A former employee, Aria Brown, expressed concerns about the number of animals under Giovanni's care, noting that the facility was often overcrowded. Brown mentioned that Giovanni had begun taking in foster dogs in addition to regular clients, leading to an overwhelming situation. Brown also revealed that Giovanni sourced food from a pet food pantry, raising further concerns about the care provided to the animals.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and animal control will continue to monitor the situation at A Time Four Paws. Giovanni is expected to appear in court at a later date to address the charges.
