New York Governor Kathy Hochul is celebrating the arrival of her second grandchild, a baby girl named Nina, born early this morning at 4:20 a.m. Hochul shared the joyous news by posting a photo of herself and her husband holding the newborn on social media, expressing how holding Nina reminds her of New York's ongoing efforts to support families.
Governor Hochul first became a grandmother in 2022 when her son Billy and daughter-in-law Christina welcomed their daughter, Sofia. Now, with the birth of Nina, the governor is once again embracing the joys of grandparenthood.
Hochul, who is known for her focus on family-friendly policies, recently met with middle-class parents to discuss investments in New York families. She highlighted initiatives such as a child tax credit increase, a middle-class tax rate cut, and covering the cost of school meals, aiming to ease the financial burden on families.
News10 reported that Hochul is scheduled to make an announcement on affordable housing in The Bronx later today, followed by a speech at the American Irish Legislators Society of New York’s annual dinner in Albany.
