State Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a tragic accident in Moreau as 78-year-old Robert Baker. The incident occurred on Tuesday (July 15) at the intersection of Route 9 and Fawn Road. Baker was struck by a commercial vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WNYT.
The accident happened just before noon, with the commercial truck heading north on Route 9. News10 reported that troopers responded to the scene at approximately 11:47 a.m. The driver of the commercial vehicle is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and no tickets have been issued so far.
State Route 9, which was temporarily closed following the accident, has since reopened, as reported by CBS6 Albany. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
