Starting today, a section of Ashdown Road in Clifton Park will be closed for construction work. The road will be shut down from Route 146A, also known as Ballston Lake Road, to County Route 80, known as Schauber Road. The closure will last from Friday (July 25) through Tuesday (July 29), affecting through-traffic, though local residents will still have access to the area.
The construction project involves milling operations beginning today, with paving scheduled to start on Tuesday, weather permitting. According to the Town of Clifton Park, flaggers will be on-site to assist with traffic detours, ensuring that motorists can navigate the area safely. Drivers, especially motorcyclists, are advised to exercise caution as some road sections may be uneven.
Once the paving is complete and the asphalt has cured, highway crews will return to work on the road shoulders and reseed grass if necessary. The Clifton Park Highway Department oversees the project and has provided a contact number for residents with questions: (518) 371-7310.
The construction is part of ongoing efforts by the Highway Department to maintain and improve the town's infrastructure, which includes over 230 miles of roads. The department is responsible for various tasks, including paving, snow and ice control, and road maintenance, as detailed on the Clifton Park Highway Department's website.
