The City of Albany is offering residents various options to beat the heat this summer. Ten spray pads are open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at locations including Krank Park, Black Lives Matter Park, Hackett Park, the Upper Lincoln Spray Pool, and Rosemont Park. These zero-depth aquatic playgrounds provide a safe and fun way for children to cool off.
In addition to the spray pads, Albany Public Library branches are serving as cooling centers. Residents can escape the heat while enjoying the library's resources. The Arbor Hill, Mater Christi, and Lincoln Park pools are also open from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for those looking to take a refreshing swim.
For more information on cooling centers and other places to cool off in Albany County, residents can visit the Albany County Health Department's website. The site provides a map of cooling centers throughout New York and additional tips for staying cool.
