State Route 85 in Bethlehem will be closed overnight for construction work starting Tuesday (July 29). The closure will occur on weeknights from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and is expected to last until Monday (August 4). The New York State Department of Transportation announced that the closure, which spans from Maher Road to Blessing Road, is part of a pavement renewal project.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour, which will use Maher Road, Krumkill Road, and New Scotland Road. Drivers should anticipate travel delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time. The construction schedule is weather-dependent and may change based on conditions.

CBS6 Albany and NEWS10 ABC both reported that the closure is intended to improve the road's condition and ensure safer travel for the future.
