Mechanicville Man Arrested in Machete Attack

A 61-year-old man, Brian Reome, has been arrested in Mechanicville after allegedly attacking another person with a machete. The incident occurred on Sunday (August 3) when Reome reportedly cut the victim on the hand and arm and threatened to kill him. The victim managed to flee to a nearby plaza and was subsequently taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

Mechanicville Police responded to the scene around 8 p.m. after receiving reports of an assault involving a samurai-style weapon. Officers located Reome at his home and took him into custody following a brief standoff. According to police, Reome and the victim were acquainted prior to the incident.

Reome faces multiple charges, including assault, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence, and menacing. He was arraigned in Mechanicville City Court and has been remanded to the Saratoga County Jail, awaiting further court proceedings.
