Teen Indicted for Allegedly Firing Gun in Albany Park

A 16-year-old has been indicted for allegedly firing a gun at people in Washington Park, Albany, New York. The incident occurred on July 26, and an Albany County Grand Jury handed down a three-count indictment. The charges include attempted murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment. The teen, whose name has not been released due to their age, pleaded not guilty during the arraignment on Wednesday (August 6) and is being held at the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Center.

According to News10, the teen allegedly fired several rounds at a group of people, but no injuries were reported. The incident took place around 8 p.m. on a basketball court in Washington Park. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene but was apprehended after a brief chase.
