A section of Snooks Corners Road in Montgomery County remains closed following a collision involving a commercial vehicle that struck the overpass on Saturday morning (August 9). The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported that the accident occurred around 11:22 a.m., with no injuries reported. The road closure affects the area between Mead Road and Sager Road, as the Department of Public Works works to secure concrete barriers and ensure the safety of the area for travel.
The overpass will remain closed until further notice while crews conduct inspections and assess any structural damage. The closure does not impact traffic on Interstate 90 itself, according to the Thruway Authority. Meanwhile, Fort Hunter Road near another Thruway overpass has been reduced to one lane due to bridge damage in the vicinity.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office advises motorists who typically use Snooks Corners Road to seek alternative routes. The road closure is expected to continue as officials work to address the situation and ensure public safety.
