The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced the closure of a ramp in Albany today (August 13) for a routine bridge inspection. The ramp from Exit Three on Interstate 787 northbound to the South Mall Expressway will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs, which will direct them to use U.S. Route 9/20 and Broadway in Rensselaer.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, drivers should anticipate travel delays and are encouraged to allocate extra time for their commute. The DOT has noted that construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are not suitable.

The Times Union also reported that the DOT will ensure clear detour signage is in place to help motorists navigate the closure. The department emphasizes the importance of safety and urges drivers to slow down and be cautious around highway workers.
