An investigation is ongoing after 21 dogs were found dead at Anastasia's Acres Dog Boarding in Argyle. The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the facility on Sunday (August 24) following reports of deceased animals. One dog was taken to Northway Animal Clinic in Moreau for treatment, but no update has been provided on its condition.
The cause of death for the dogs remains unknown, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The owners of Anastasia's Acres are cooperating with law enforcement, and a veterinarian and animal control officers are assisting in the investigation. Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy has urged anyone with information to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The boarding facility has announced on Facebook that it will remain closed until further notice. The case has drawn attention from the local community, and the investigation is being handled by the Washington County Sheriff's Office Investigation Unit and Road Patrol, with assistance from the Town of Argyle Animal Control Officers.

WNYT also noted that the facility owners have not yet provided a public statement regarding the incident.
