A 22-year-old man from Burnt Hills, Damon Brooks, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of second-degree rape involving a minor under the age of 15. The Saratoga Springs Police Department arrested Brooks on Wednesday (August 20) following an investigation into reports of an unlawful sexual relationship. The investigation began after a third party reported the inappropriate relationship between Brooks and the minor, who were acquainted. Authorities determined that Brooks engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim on six separate occasions throughout 2024.
Brooks faces six counts of second-degree rape under New York State Penal Law 130.30, which are classified as Class D felonies. He was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court on Thursday (August 21) and is currently being held without bail at the Saratoga County Jail. Brooks is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday (September 9).
The case has drawn significant attention due to the serious nature of the charges and the age of the victim. As the legal process unfolds, Brooks remains in custody, and further developments are anticipated as his court date approaches.
