Albany Police Continue Probe into North Pearl Street Shooting

Albany police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night (September 3) on North Pearl Street near North First Street. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of gunfire and discovered a 63-year-old man inside his home with a gunshot wound to the back. He was promptly transported to Albany Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition.

According to CBS6 Albany, the victim reported hearing gunshots originating from nearby Hackett Park. Investigators found evidence of gunfire in the park behind the victim's residence. During the incident, the man's dog was also grazed by a bullet and required veterinary care.
