Rotterdam Police Seek Suspect in Pepper Spray Assault

Rotterdam police are actively searching for a suspect involved in an assault and robbery that took place on Monday (September 8) on Franklin Street in Schenectady County. At approximately 1:30 PM, a man entered a residence, sprayed two occupants with pepper spray, and fled the scene with stolen property.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his late 20s, wearing a black track suit with a red hood, white sneakers, and a mask. He was last seen fleeing on foot near the intersection of Mariaville Road and Franklin Street. The Schenectady Police K-9 Unit and the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the investigation.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact Rotterdam Detectives at 518-355-7397 ext. 2110. According to CBS6 Albany, police are working diligently to identify and apprehend the suspect.
