The Tri-City ValleyCats faced a setback in the Atlantic Conference Finals, dropping Game 1 to the Québec Capitales. The ValleyCats, known for their resilience during the regular season, were unable to mount a comeback in this crucial game. The match took place at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, marking the start of the best-of-five series.

During the regular season, the ValleyCats often secured late-game victories, but they could not replicate that success against the Capitales. The ValleyCats had previously advanced to the Conference Finals by defeating the Sussex County Miners in the Wild Card Round, winning both games in the series.

The Troy Record reported that the ValleyCats' bats went quiet, and they were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities. This loss puts pressure on the ValleyCats to bounce back in the remaining games of the series.

The ValleyCats will aim to even the series in Game 2, scheduled for Wednesday (September 10) at the same venue. Fans can follow the ValleyCats' playoff run through their website and social media platforms.
