Coca-Cola may soon relocate its distribution center from Colonie to a new facility in Halfmoon. Reports indicate that the soft drink company plans to construct a $48 million distribution center on Liebich Lane, approximately two miles from the Northway. The proposed facility would span 125,000 square feet, nearly doubling the current loading capacity of the Colonie site.
If the move proceeds, all 147 jobs from the Albany County facility would be retained at the new Saratoga County location. Developer Scanell Properties is seeking tax incentives from the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency, including a 10-year pilot agreement and a sales tax exemption on construction materials. According to the Albany Business Review, construction could begin later this year, with completion expected around 2027.
Despite these developments, Coca-Cola has not commented on the potential move or its future plans. The proposed relocation reflects a strategic effort to enhance distribution efficiency and capacity in the region.
