Albany will once again host the popular Hounds of Halloween event on Saturday, October 18. This unique Halloween celebration invites dogs and their owners to enjoy a day filled with fun activities in downtown Albany. The event will feature a trick-or-treat experience at numerous local businesses, a canine costume contest, and a new addition this year—a puppy parade starting at the Clinton Market Collective at 3 p.m.

The festivities will kick off at noon with check-in and registration at The Olde English Pub & Pantry's dog-friendly patio. Participants can enjoy trick-or-treating and the costume contest until 4 p.m. The contest will have a panel of judges selecting winners, and there will also be a People's Choice vote on the downtown Albany Business Improvement District's Facebook page. First-place winners will receive a $100 downtown Albany gift card, among other prizes.

After the main event, attendees can relax at Yappy Hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where participating bars and restaurants will offer special deals. Registration for the event is $20 per dog in advance online or $25 on the day of the event, and it includes a trick-or-treating map, an exclusive tote bag, and entry into the costume contest.

For more information and to register, visit the Downtown Albany website or check out the News10 report.
