Autopsy Scheduled for Body Found in Mohawk River

An autopsy is scheduled for today on the body of a man found floating in the Mohawk River near Schenectady. The discovery was made on Sunday (September 28) near the Rivers Casino, when a boater alerted authorities around 1:40 p.m. A dive team brought the remains to shore, but the man's identity and the duration of his time in the water remain unknown.

Schenectady Police, assisted by State Police, the Scotia Fire Department, and the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, are investigating the case. Police spokesman Peter Mullen stated that they are awaiting autopsy results for more details.
