The City of Troy is on the lookout for a Christmas tree donation to be featured in Monument Square for its annual holiday celebrations. Mayor Carmella Mantello announced the call for a tree that will serve as a centerpiece during the city's renowned Troy Victorian Stroll. This event has been a tradition for 42 years, drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Mayor Mantello emphasized the importance of the tree, stating, "Each year, our Monument Square tree stands as a symbol of community, tradition, and the spirit of Troy." The city encourages residents and those in surrounding areas to consider donating a tree to contribute to the festive atmosphere.
Those interested in donating a tree can contact the mayor’s office via email at mayorsoffice@troyny.gov or by phone at (518) 279-7156, as reported by NEWS10 ABC. The tree lighting ceremony is set to take place on Thursday, December 5, followed by the Troy Victorian Stroll on Sunday, December 8.
