Two individuals, Emmanuel Pless, 20, and Chrishuana McFadden, 21, have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries at four schools in Schenectady. The schools targeted include Schenectady High School, Central Park Middle School, Paige Elementary School, and Bishop Gibbons School.
According to News10, Pless faces five counts of third-degree burglary, while McFadden is charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of sixth-degree conspiracy. The Schenectady Police Department's Community Engagement Officers, along with a detective assigned to the school district, played a key role in identifying the suspects.
The CBS6 Albany report highlights that the department's Drone Unit provided aerial surveillance, which enhanced situational awareness and officer safety during the investigation. Both suspects were arrested without incident.
The WNYT report reveals that the suspects were allegedly looking for cash and credit cards, with the most expensive item stolen being an iPad, which was later recovered. The Schenectady City School District expressed gratitude for the swift police action, stating their commitment to ensuring the schools remain secure environments for students.
