Albany police have arrested a 60-year-old man following the death of his sister, who was found with a head injury on Hudson Avenue on Wednesday (October 15). Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:10 a.m., where they discovered the 61-year-old woman unresponsive. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to NEWS10, the suspect fled to a residence on Western Avenue, prompting a police response that included the Albany Police Department’s Emergency Service Team. A standoff ensued, but the suspect eventually surrendered around 5 p.m. without further incident.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, is expected to be arraigned in Albany City Court on Thursday (October 16). The police have not yet disclosed the names of the victim or the suspect, and further details about the incident are still under investigation, as reported by CBS6 Albany.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to uncover more information about the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
