The annual Scare-nectady Haunted Patrol in Schenectady has been canceled due to adverse weather conditions. Originally scheduled for Thursday (October 30), the event was called off after forecasts predicted heavy rain and strong winds, which raised safety concerns for participants and attendees. The Schenectady Police Department announced the cancellation on Tuesday, emphasizing that the decision was made to ensure everyone's safety.

The department expressed disappointment, stating, "We look forward to this event each year, and have held on until the very end to make this tough decision, but we believe it is in the best interest of safety." They also thanked the partner agencies and the community for their support, promising to return next year.

Despite the cancellation, trick-or-treaters can still enjoy Halloween festivities. The police department will distribute candy at their station on Thursday and Friday evenings, ensuring that the spirit of the holiday remains alive.
