A 19-year-old man from Troy, Kemaury Everett, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter after a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of 93-year-old Charles Allendorph. The tragic event occurred on August 18 at the intersection of Congress Street and Newark Street in Cohoes. According to WNYT, Everett struck Allendorph with his vehicle and then backed over him as witnesses urged him to stop.

After the incident, Everett fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle near Dove and Elm streets. Police later apprehended him at his home. In addition to the manslaughter charge, Everett faced charges of second-degree assault and leaving the scene without reporting. His plea agreement satisfies these charges, along with a pending drug charge from another case.

Everett is scheduled to be sentenced on January 16 and faces a prison term ranging from five to 15 years.
