Fatal Crash in Nassau Under Investigation by Troopers

A fatal crash on State Route 20 in Nassau is under investigation by the New York State Police. The incident occurred on Monday (November 10) at approximately 2:10 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle. The driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center, according to State Police.

The crash prompted the closure of State Route 20 between State Route 66 and Kinderhook Lane until about 6 p.m. as investigators and the collision reconstruction team worked on the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the names of those involved.
