A train collided with a vehicle in Voorheesville, New York, on Saturday (November 15) evening, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, a 78-year-old man from Catskill attempted an illegal U-turn near Voorheesville Avenue, causing his car to become stuck on the railroad tracks. The man managed to exit the vehicle before a southbound CSX freight train struck it, pushing the car several hundred feet down the tracks.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m., and bystanders assisted the driver in escaping from the vehicle before the collision. Sheriff Apple emphasized the importance of exercising caution near train tracks, stating, "This traumatic event affects not only those involved but also our personnel" (News10 ABC reported).

The driver has been issued several traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in New Scotland Town Court on December 4. The New York State Police confirmed that CSX is cooperating with the investigation, which included reviewing dash camera footage from the train. Sheriff Apple expressed frustration over repeated incidents at railroad crossings, urging the public to stay off the tracks to prevent future accidents.
