A standoff in Schenectady ended peacefully on Sunday (November 16) after police detained a person without incident. Officers responded to a home on Oregon Avenue around 3:45 a.m. following a report of an individual armed with a gun. The suspect refused to leave the residence, prompting a standoff that lasted several hours.

According to WNYT, both ends of Oregon Avenue were blocked off during the incident, and police advised residents to stay indoors. State Police assisted Schenectady officers at the scene, and negotiations continued throughout the morning. Officers in protective gear used a megaphone to communicate with the individual inside, urging them to surrender.

By noon, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. NEWS10 ABC reported that the investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released details about the suspect's identity or motives.

The Times Union noted that police issued a final warning to the individual shortly before 10:30 a.m., stating, "This is your last chance, come out the front door with your hands up." The situation was resolved without any reported injuries, and police are expected to provide more information as the investigation continues.
