The New York State Holiday Tree is starting its journey to the State Capitol in Albany today (November 18). The tree is being cut down on Sienna Drive in Ballston Spa and will be set up on the Empire State Plaza, located in front of the Capitol building. This marks the beginning of the holiday festivities in the area.
The annual tree lighting ceremony and fireworks celebration is scheduled for Sunday, December 7. The event will run from noon until 8 p.m. and will feature various activities for families and visitors. Additionally, the Empire State Plaza ice rink will open for the season on Friday, December 5, at 10 a.m.
