Two pedestrians died after being struck by a car on Charlton Road near Maple Avenue in Charlton on Tuesday (November 25). According to State Police, the tragic incident occurred around 5:18 p.m. Both individuals were severely injured and transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The road was closed for several hours as authorities conducted an investigation and reconstructed the scene to determine the cause of the accident. The police have not yet released the names of the victims or any information about the driver involved in the crash.
As reported by the Times Union, the road has since reopened for the morning commute. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
