Drivers in the Capital Region are experiencing a slight relief at the gas pump. According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular fuel in the region is now $3.07, which is a decrease of one cent from the previous week. However, this price is still six cents higher than what motorists were paying a month ago.

The current state average stands at $3.13 per gallon, while the national average is $3.00. Prices vary across the region, with Vermont at $3.12, New Jersey at $3.02, and Delaware at $2.97. The District of Columbia reports higher prices at $3.21, while Connecticut's average is $3.08.

Despite the recent decrease, gas prices remain a concern for many drivers, especially as they compare to prices from earlier in the year. The slight reduction in prices comes as a welcome change for consumers, although it is uncertain how long this trend will continue.
