Cleanup efforts are ongoing in Albany after the Capital Region experienced its first significant snowfall of the season. The storm, which began early Tuesday morning (December 2), brought several inches of snow, leading to numerous crashes on the New York State Thruway, Adirondack Northway, and local roads. The National Weather Service's Winter Storm Warning expired overnight, but drivers are advised to remain cautious during the morning commute due to potentially tricky road conditions.

According to WRGB, the storm originated from the southern United States and delivered light to moderate snowfall throughout the day, totaling four to six inches. Although the snowfall has ceased, temperatures will stay below normal for the first week of December, with highs at least ten degrees below average. While dry weather is expected on Wednesday (December 3), a cold front on Thursday may bring additional snow showers, followed by the coldest air of the season Thursday night into Friday.

Fortunately, no additional snowfall is forecasted for the next few days, allowing cleanup crews to focus on clearing roads and restoring normal conditions in the area.
