Investigators have determined that the fire which severely damaged the tour boat Adirondac on Lake George is not suspicious. The fire broke out early Monday morning (December 8) and was reported by a passer-by who saw flames engulfing the top deck. Firefighters from multiple departments responded swiftly, extinguishing the blaze within an hour.

The 115-foot-long vessel, operated by Lake George Waterfront Cruises, suffered extensive damage, particularly to the upper deck. According to Warren County spokesman Don Lehman, the fire was intensified by winds on the lake, causing the top deck to collapse into the middle of the boat. Despite the damage, Lehman noted that the boat's engine and hull remain intact, and the vessel can potentially be rebuilt.

The Adirondac, a popular attraction in Lake George, was scheduled for upcoming events, including the "Frost Bite" cruise on New Year's Day. The community has expressed support for the boat's owners, with Lake George Village Mayor Ray Perry stating that they are ready to assist in any way possible.

Environmental concerns were addressed by the Department of Environmental Conservation, which deployed booms to prevent any potential spills. The contaminated water used to fight the fire will be pumped out. While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials have confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident.
