Sticks & Stones Fire Cause Undetermined, Not Suspicious

The cause of the fire that destroyed Sticks & Stones Wood Fired Bistro and Bar in Schroon Lake has been labeled as undetermined but not suspicious. Essex County Fire Coordinator Josh Favro explained that the extensive damage made it impossible for investigators to determine the exact cause of the blaze. "Due to the extent of damage caused by the fire, the investigators were not able to rule out all possible causes," Favro said.

Firefighters from Essex and Warren Counties responded to the fire on Saturday, November 29, shortly after 3 a.m. The fire completely engulfed the building, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. In response to the incident, a relief fund for the restaurant's employees has been established by the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce. Donations are being accepted online, in person, or by mail to the chamber.
