A new poll from the Siena Research Institute reveals that New York Governor Kathy Hochul is leading the gubernatorial race with a 19-point advantage over Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. The poll, which surveyed over 800 registered voters, shows that 49% of respondents support Hochul, while 30% back Stefanik. Hochul's lead has slightly decreased from a 20-point margin last month. Her favorability has improved, with 43% of voters viewing her positively compared to 41% who do not.

In contrast, Stefanik's favorability has declined, with only 22% of respondents having a favorable opinion of her, while 33% view her unfavorably. Notably, 44% of voters either don't know or have no opinion about Stefanik. Among Republican voters, Stefanik holds a significant lead over her primary opponent, Bruce Blakeman, with 48% support compared to Blakeman's 17%. However, over a third of Republicans remain undecided.

Governor Hochul also maintains a strong lead over her Democratic primary challenger, Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, with a 43-point advantage. Despite these numbers, both Democrats and Republicans agree that neither Hochul nor Stefanik is likely to make life more affordable in New York.

Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots in the governor's race next November.
