Water service in Brunswick has been restored after two significant water main breaks disrupted supply. The breaks occurred along Route Two, east of the Hill Creek Tavern, with the first detected on Friday (December 19) and the second on Saturday near Laughing Earth Farms. Although water service is back, a boil water order remains in effect for the area to eliminate potentially harmful bacteria.

Town Supervisor Phil Herrington has made resources available to affected residents, including access to potable and bottled water, as well as a warming station and showers at Brittonkill Central Schools. Residents can visit the school at 3992 State Route 2, Cropseyville, New York, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM for these services, according to CBS 6 Albany.

The initial break was challenging to locate, with officials reporting a loss of 50,000 to 100,000 gallons of water per hour. As of Saturday evening, efforts to pinpoint the initial break were still ongoing. Residents are advised to continue boiling water until further notice to ensure safety.
